The Vancouver Christmas market

Located at the Jack Poole plaza, just outside the Vancouver convention center, the Vancouver Christmas Market is one of the most significant highlight events, and locations for the 2019 Christmas holidays.

Kicking off on November 20th 2019, and coming to a halt on December 24th, you have access to the market from 11:30 am to 9:30 pm daily

If you are big on traditional Christmas shopping/window shopping, and the tasty mulled wine, then this is the place for you.

Free Robson square skating

The Christmas time in the Robson square nestled in between Hornby street, Howe street, and Robson street in the downtown area of Vancouver, is one interesting place to visit.

Amongst the many events held in this open space, the free Robson square skating is one of the more magical ones.

The free ice skating event kicks off early on in December, and brings joy and happiness to tons of people, up until the end of February of the next year.

You can skate your heart out for free, from 9am to 9 pm daily on the weekdays, and 9 am to 11 pm on the weekends.

Vancouver’s bright nights at Stanley park

Kicking off from November 28th to January 1st, 2019, and 2020, respectively, the bright night’s event at Stanley Park is the highlight of everything festive.

With more lights than you can count, and in a display like something out of a fantasy, both adults and children literally have to pick their jaws from the floor, no matter how many times they have seen it.

In the spirit of Christmas, the admission fee is asked based on how you feel in your heart to donate. and the event is in full gear from 3 pm to 10 pm every day except on Christmas day.

Coquitlam’s Christmas lights at Lafarge

How many lights are too many lights? Definitely not 100,000, as these are the number of lights featured at the Coquitlam’s Christmas at Lafarge.

This light event is free for everyone, as it features incredible lights and attractions, structured around the Coquitlam’s lake.

The light display comes on at 4:30 to 11 pm daily, and up until 1 am on new year’s day. In 2019, it kicks off on November 30th, and comes to a close on January 19th.

This event is a literal winter wonderland, and would be a great place to go with friends, family, and just about anyone to get the holiday cheer on.

Stevenson Santa Claus parade

At 6 to 8 pm on December 24th, sees the whole clause family all the way from the north pole visiting the Stevenson village.

A delightful parade is put up on the streets of Stevenson village, which is the ideal place to really feel the spirit of Christmas with your friends and family.

This event is free but does welcome both food and cash donations to help support the Richmond food bank. The kick-off point for this two-hour-long parade is regent street on 6th avenue.
